Lennart Schüßler
As an experienced lawyer in our Privacy and Data Protection Practice and our Technology & Communications Sector Group in Frankfurt and Düsseldorf, I advise both public- and private-sector clients and tech innovators on all legal issues relating to data, digitalisation and IT security. I focus on the strategic design and legal protection of data-driven business models – from data protection and data economy to the Data Act and data spaces to cybersecurity and AI regulation.
I lead complex national and international projects on data protection compliance (GDPR), international transfers (including BCRs), internal data processing, product and contract design, and regulatory requirements for digital platforms and services. Over the years, I have supported clients across key industries such as tech & comms, life sciences, automotive and retail. I have a particular focus on providing legal support for disruptive technologies: I regularly advise on AI and machine learning, IoT, blockchain (especially Industry 4.0), biometrics, cloud infrastructures, digital health applications, telematics, social media and data-driven marketing.
I have led numerous international GDPR and IT compliance projects for leading global corporations and in highly regulated sectors.
I am recommended in leading legal rankings such as Legal 500, JUVE, Best Lawyers and Handelsblatt, and am active as a speaker and author on digital legal issues. I am a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) and the German Society for Law and Informatics (DGRI).
